Amwell Valley Trail Association
The Charles Weeden III Memorial Scholarship Fund 20 years ago, Mary Weeden had a very good idea - to create an association that establishes organized trails, rules and regulations for riders and hikers in the Amwell Valley. Eligibility: Any East Amwell Township student, any member of HHPC, AVHPC or AVTA, planning to further his/her education in the area of agriculture, environmental science or animal husbandry. Type of Criteria: Merit-Based Scholarship Please click on the Scholarship Form Page to view and complete an application.
This organized approached was a relief to local landowners; no longer would crops be placed in jeopardy by the trampling of horse and rider. The riders were provided with maps and properly cleared trails. Everyone benefited from Mary’s idea – and the Amwell Valley Trail Association (A.V.T.A.) became a reality. Years later Chuck Weeden, a faithful supporter of the Association, passed away and in his honor, the A.V.T.A. created The Charles Foster Weeden III Memorial Scholarship Fund. The A.V.T.A.'s annual Hunter Pace, held on the first weekend in October is our primary fund raiser for the Fund.
